Hitorerut Incubation Award

Uri L’Tzedek Hitorerut Incubation Award

In these changing and uncertain times, Uri L’Tzedek is looking to the next generation of tzedek visionaries to lead and inspire the Orthodox community towards repairing our world.

We are thrilled to announce the first Uri L’Tzedek Hitorerut Incubation Award. The Hitorerut Incubation Award will be granted to one emerging activist in the Orthodox community with a plan to change the world in 2017-18.

The Award will be granted to an individual in order to launch a social justice initiative that targets engagement from the Orthodox community.  The Awardee will have the opportunity to grow and develop his or her initiative over the course of the year.  The Awardee will be given significant autonomy, but will also receive support from the leadership of Uri L’Tzedek, mentoring by Jewish social justice leaders, and other professional development opportunities.  A small percentage (likely 25-30%) of the Awardee’s time will also be spent on other programmatic and administrative support for Uri L’Tzedek.

The specific terms and condition of the Award include:

  • $20,000 Award
  • A one-year fellowship with Uri L’Tzedek, with a flexible start date (ideally, June, 2017);
  • Location: Anywhere in the United States (ideally, in or around NYC , or with easy access to NYC); and
  • Awardee must be Orthodox, passionate about social justice, and self-motivated.
