Carmel Simone  Langer Torah in Action Fellowship

New Campus Fellowship!

Come to the border and volunteer with us in December!

Right now, a humanitarian crisis is escalating at America’s southern border and Uri L’Tzedek welcomes these asylum seekers and asylees with open arms. Our primary methods of support include helping asylees with the transition out of ICE detention and collecting donations of household goods, clothing, and furniture.

Leadership Retreat with Jewtina y Co. Darchei Tzedek / Caminos a la Justicia!

Carmel Simone Langer Torah-In-Action Fellowship

Carmel was a past Uri L’Tzedek fellow and the fellowship is named in her memory. May the mitzvot done by fellows for years to come give an ascent to Carmel’s soul in the heavens & may her memory be a blessing. Carmel helped to implement the Tav HaYosher Ethical Seal which ensures that kosher restaurants and caterers provide safe and just working conditions for their employees, upholding Torah labor ethics. Sadly, Carmel passed away, when she was 26, in December 2018, leaving much work to be done. May her memory forever become a blessing to us all. In memory of Carmel’s leadership, Uri L’Tzedek honors her leadership by uplifting new Jewish leaders who have a passion for Judaism and social justice.

Past fellows.
